PR:ARMA2 HIGHLIGHTS REEL #1

There's a lengthy progress report on the BI forums (thread will probably be moved) and also on the PR:ARMA2 forums. It seems the project is growing some and they're now looking at a June/July first release.

There's a lot of great detail in the update, something that stood out for me is that they're now working with the developers of the TS3 plug-in where previously they'd expressed a desire to stick with Mumble for directional sound.



They also hope to make it possible to allow players to shoot from vehicles, if anyone can make that work then I think DeanosBeano (on their team) is probably the guy to do so.

That's a tall order they've set themselves, if something was posted like that from the Insurgency Dev's I'd be quoting it as a Tui Ad :lol:

Glad they're sticking with the TS3 plugin and will be interesting to see how their take on some of the things that ACE2 already does & how they compare.

June / July is three months away! I wants it NOW! :lol:

Okay I may be in a position to put some questions to the developers, I have a few of my own (mostly around voice coms) but I thought I'd see if anybody else here has some to ask also?

Tell them not to update every damn day like bloody ACE. I only just updated that thing and there's already another 178mb waiting. Sitting around waiting for a progress bar to fill up for an hour each time you want to play is not what I'd consider fun...

Well...

a) It's very unlikely, PR strike me as traditional in their approach.
b) It's actually nothing to do with the ACE team anyway, they provide a stable build which is updated at a typical frequency (typical unless you're an Insurgency developer that is) they're hardly responsible if server admins elect to run their development builds instead.
c) This (obviously) has nothing to do with what I'm inviting here.

Will there be a traditional 'ticket' based scoring system?

Where will players be able to spawn (on any friendly flag, only at a main base, on their squad leader etc)?

How many players will PR be best suited to and will the missions scale up/down to cater for more/less players?
