 King of the Hill Season II Ends! KOTH - SEASON II  The gripping sequel of the hit drama ANZINS - King of the Hill, has ended. At the washup at the end of KOTH Season II, the 5th Ðimension («5л) holds the crown! They couldn't have timed their second claim of the top spot any better.
However, congratulations is also due to Zoom Zoom Aeroplane (zza.) who managed hold the crown six times throughout the season. 2-Commando (C²) were close behind with five, and late comers Bad Wolf (BW.) were top of the pack four times. Stalwarts and all round nice guys, Ravenous (rV.) were unable to claim the crown - however we hope they had some fun.
Thank you to all those teams, and also to Vigilant Civilian Militia ([VCM]), for your support of the KOTH ladder and your keenness to bring a competitive element to Aus/NZ insurgency.
Most importantly we cannot forget to thank Cabal and Defunkt without who's time and money the whole thing would not be possible, so a big thank you guys - on behalf of KOTH.
KOTH will now take an indefinite break. Originally we were planning to return in mid-January, however a recent decline in the prospects of Insurgency mod makes that seem unlikely. If there continues to be a viable community at that time, then KOTH may resume. If not, then I wish all the clans the best of luck in their chosen endevours. I'm sure the ANZINS community will continue into the future, and I'm keen to see where we end up.

Sometimes too many balls but we had them anyway.
We struggled with finding a consistent team, but the subs enjoyed their games.
We introduced a few new players so that was good too.
Thanks to Grumpy and the ANZINS team for all their work.
Thanks to all the teams for the games and for their support of us, the minnows of Insurgency.
Cabal and defunkt for servers, and such, much appreciated.
rV you great bunch of no hopers for playing with us.
merry Christmas, happy and Prosperous New Year all.
Hope that we do get something going for next year.

This is a great community and I always have fun scrimming or pubbing it up around here - I hope ANZINS continues in whatever shape - I'll certainly be around (and with my new computer in Jan I'll finally be able to play some newer games). The current INS situation sucks arse but I am sure we can find something worth playing if things don't improve...

Re: King of the Hill Season II Ends! Thanks Grump, you ran a great competition and I'm glad I was able to help in some small part. Ravenous, you may not have been the most successful team but you were the nicest, which counts for a lot in my book  Well played to the other teams, I think we all deserved our (brief) moments at the top  I can't say I'm all that sorry to see Insurgency go. Even putting aside the lamentable state it's in I think the gameplay (at least for me) is wearing a bit thin, and tends to engender more frustration than enjoyment. I would very much like to find a game which doesn't feel quite so brutally hyper-competitive and encourages interesting tactics more than it does sheer point-and-click prowess. Currently ArmA 2 holds interesting possibilities in that direction, as does Bad Company 2 in the future. Cheers all <3

Also congrats to 5Ð for finishing with the crown 1 more week and we would have got you lol.gg to all that played through season

Re: King of the Hill Season II Ends! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone @ANZINS that took part in Season 1 & 2 of KOTH.
We have a good bunch of blokes in & around this community and even with all the problems that Insurgency has it's been great to see a local comp take place on the servers.
I've got to say a special thanks to Defunkt & Grumpdogg for the work they've put in keeping Insurgency in the foreground.
Even if there's not a 3rd Season I hope to see you all still around here until we find (or Defunkt makes) the next great game that we can all enjoy.
