 NEW PHISHING SCAMHu1tik and Catalyst (and probably more) have had their accounts hijacked. If you get a message via steam friends with a link to a steamgift type URL, its totally BS. DO NOT CLICK OR ENTER YOUR DETAILS.

FOR FUTURE REFERANCE ANY, AND I DO MEAN ANY LINK YOU GET THROUGH STEAM COPY THEM THEN PASTE INTO GOOGLE, IF THE SEARCH COMES BACK WITH SOMETHING SHODDY (like the steam gift ones having asian characters, only 1 result and a bunch of weird symbols)THEN ITS A CLEAR INDICATION THAT IT WONT BE PLEASANT _________________

JK but it was one that came up on mine. [EDIT: Steam thingy asks me for a verification code, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? The one sent to the E-mail address of my account....which the scam changed coz i got an e-mail from valve saying that my accounts e-mail has been changed, SO ther ya go STEAM has aparently thought of everything, NOW i know that those fucking fat ass nerdy shitdicks cant do anything right.. FUCKING AMERICANS. That is all Catalyst.] _________________

Re: NEW PHISHING SCAM Since a few years ago Steam accounts required e-mail verification for password changes by default. This was not the case with earlier accounts and those users need to opt-in to this feature, sounds like yours is one of the former. I think if you plead your case to Steam support and show them the phishing page you'll be able to get it back but you want to get onto it ASAP.

EDIT: Follow THIS GUIDE HERE. It's what Valve says to do so do it! |
